Education
The public educational system of the Town of Hamburg is maintained by multiple school districts - Hamburg Central, Frontier Central, West Seneca Central and Orchard Park Central School Districts. These school districts are legally independent of each other. You may check a map of the distribution of school districts in Erie County on the WNY Regional Information Network.
Parents also have the option of sending their children to one of the parochial or private schools.
Specialized educational services such as vocational programs and special education are provided by the Erie 1 Boces.
Special Programs District
Both the Hamburg and Frontier Districts are members of the Board of Cooperative Services (BOCES), which is a cooperative venture by a number of school districts in the Buffalo area to provide specialized educational services which school districts acting individually would be unable to provide. Under this program, students from Hamburg and Frontier are eligible to receive additional vocational training in courses such as cosmetology, auto mechanics, electronics, and commercial art at the Potter Road School in West Seneca. Vocational-technical training facilities for student practical nurses are also available at two area hospitals.
Broad special education programs are available to students who are identified as specific learning disabled, emotionally handicapped, educable mentally retarded, and trainable mentally retarded. These programs are provided with trained personnel to assist students in making the maximum progress possible. Speech therapists, reading teachers, psychologists, school social workers, and school nurses comprise a supportive staff for all students.
For young children, many talented and dedicated Child Care Providers offer nursery programs, full time day care centers, and before and after school programs.
For high school graduates, many Colleges and Universities offer an excellent education in Western New York.

Child Care Providers
The Town of Hamburg offers parents many options for child care. Parents may send their child to a public Universal Pre-K program, a private or not-for-profit day care center, a family child care, or a nursery school. The WNY Child Care Network provides a current listing of all the child care facilities in the Town and Village of Hamburg.
If you need help in choosing a child care facility, you may call the Child Care Coalition of the Niagara Frontier at 716 877-6666. They will help you decide on what is best for your child and you.
For general guidance of child care options, you may also check the Child Care Information for Parents, a resource page provided by the WNY Child Care Network.
