TRAFFIC TICKETS

Please be advised that Traffic Court is currently being held on a limited basis only.  You are ONLY to appear if you have received a letter from the Court informing you.

To plead guilty, fill in Section A and mail the ticket to the Court.  After we receive your guilty plea you will receive a fine letter in approximately 4-6 weeks.

If you wish to plead not guilty the Town Prosecutor will contact you via mail about a possible reduced plea.  You will not have to appear in Court. If your address does not match your license, please contact the court to update.

If you wish to meet with the Town Prosecutor in person to discuss your case, you can reject the Town Prosecutors mail offer and request a court date.

All criminal matters are being scheduled for appearances.  If you have recently moved, please contact the court with your new address.

SMALL CLAIMS/CIVIL/EVICTIONS

Small Claims, Evictions and Civil filings are being accepted at the Court Clerk's Office
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00am – 1:00pm ONLY.

Small Claim proceedings may be brought by any individual against anyone who resides or owns a business in the Town of Hamburg.  The maximum claim allowed is $3,000.00.

The filing fee is $10.00, if the amount you are suing for is $1.00 up to $1,000.00 and $15.00, if the amount is $1,001.00 up to $3,000.00.

The filing fee is payable upon filing the application, the Court Clerk cannot accept an application without the filing fee.

EVICTIONS 

Filings are being accepted for evictions.  However, CDC and Safe Harbor Act guidelines must be followed.  Please contact the court clerk for a hearing date and docket number prior to preparing documents for service.
