Senior Services

The Senior Citizen Program has been in existence in the Town of Hamburg for over 40 years. For most of those years, the Program has been under the direction of the Department of Senior Services. In 2010, the Recreation programs, Youth bureau, and Senior Citizens programs merged into one department - Department of Youth, Recreation, and Senior Services.

The purpose of the Senior Citizen Program is to provide social, education, nutrition, transportation, health and wellness programs to enrich the lives of those 60 years of age and older. Our objective is to keep older persons active and aware of current events, especially in areas that directly affect their lives. We strive to provide opportunities for our members to use their abilities and experience to contribute to the community at large.

The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm; the Fitness Room is open 8 am to 4 pm year-round.

The Senior Services Department publishes a monthly newsletter The Prime Times. The newsletter contains programs which are available to Town of Hamburg senior citizens, as well as many current events. For further information on Senior Services that are available call 646-0665.
