Overview

The Town of Hamburg hosts a Veteran's Committee. This committee works with the various veteran organizations in the town to help meet and address the needs of our veterans. It also helps to coordinate the town-sponsored veteran events such as the Pearl Harbor and September 11th Remembrance Ceremonies.

Mission Statement

The Veteran's committee is dedicated to recognizing the sacrifice and service of Hamburg's veterans and their families; to leverage local, state and national agencies for the betterment of our veterans, and to socially and economically integrate veteran's and their families into Hamburg and Western New York.

Objectives

Honor and recognize veterans through publication of awards and milestones
Provide a clearinghouse of information in order to link veteran's issues with organizations that can address them
Encourage employers to provide job openings to the committee to advertise visibility to veterans
Publicize veterans activities to promote awareness
Promote veteran's benefits and local exemptions
