The town will replace a standard post and mailbox if it is damaged by a town highway plow. It will not replace custom-built, ornamental or plastic mailboxes. The town also will not replace mailboxes damaged by the weight of the snow.
Plowing Onto the Highway
Under the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law it is illegal to plow snow from a driveway onto the road. Any violators of this law will be prosecuted. When plowing out your driveway, think of the hazard you may be creating for drivers.
Parking
Parking is prohibited on town and county roads from November 1 to April 1 from 1 am to 6 am. The town is not responsible for damage caused by town equipment to a vehicle that is in the town's right-of-way.
